ABOUT PRIDE LONDON FESTIVAL
About Us
MISSION:
To provide an annual opportunity to generate celebratory, cultural, artistic and educational events which affirm the lives of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transsexual, transgender, and two-spirited people, and supporters through activities which promote unity, inclusion, and awareness of sexual and gender diversity.
You can reach us via email at: info@pridelondon.ca with a message and a convenient time to call you and we’ll get back to you.
PHASE 1: Information Gathering (October – January)
If there were things about previous Pride’s which you liked or didn’t like, now is the time, now is the time to speak up! As we get closer to the event (July), it becomes more and more difficult to change what has been planned – so get involved now, have your say, and together we can make a great Pride London Festival 2013.
You can get involved by sending thoughts or comments via email: info@pridelondon.ca or you can volunteer by contacting the volunteer coordinator at mel@pridelondon.ca) and be part of the planning process and/or part of the execution of the events.
PHASE 2: Planning (January – June)
Although the information gathering stage never really stops, we have to start making decisions and developing firm plans by January. A good solid plan should result in good solid events!
We are working on tighter relationships with various groups in the city such as RHAC, MCC, Downtown London, Tourism London etc. This year we have the time and the resources to meet and plan events with other groups around the city to ensure a more organized schedule – we want to make sure there are no conflicting events this year!
PHASE 3: The Events (July)
A fair amount of planning takes place during the months leading up to Pride, but it’s the month of July when a lot of the physical work begins. Events will begin on July 21 and run through until July 28, 2013.
Meetings
It is important that the community be involved in this process – no question, comment, thought, or input will go unnoticed or unrecognized. If we know your concerns, we can try to address them.
Please feel free to email us anytime with your comments, concerns, and ideas. We believe Pride should celebrate its history of over 30 years of diversity, culture and Pride!
Sincerely,
Pride London Festival
