Announcing our 2015 Award Winners
Monday, June 22nd, 2015
It is with great excitement that the 2015 Pride London Festival Board of Directors makes the following announcements based on nominations and assistance from our community.
2015 Business/Organization Contribution Award goes to the London Lesbian Film Festival.
The London Lesbian Film Festival has been running for over 25 years and is a premier event in North America. A dedicated group of volunteer “Reeling Spinsters” work to put on the 3-day festival, which attracts hundreds of women each year. The festival has often challenged our way of thinking and opened our eyes to new and emerging concepts. Most importantly the organization has brought individuals of the LGBT community together to promote a safe space.
2015 Individual Contribution Award goes to Jonathon Bancroft-Snell.
Jonathon has been a dedicated member of the LGBT community in London for over 25 years. He has worked to help to create the original London Cares, fundraised for the AIDS Committee of London, founded the first Aids Walk in Canada, fundraised to help open the John Gordon Home, and helped to establish the Rainbow Youth Leadership Bursary. In addition, Jonathon has been a strong supporter of Pride London Festival and its initiatives.
Congratulations to this year’s very deserving award winners! The 2015 Pride London Festival Awards will be presented on Saturday, July 25th at the Hilton London, along with the 2015 Rainbow Youth Leadership Bursary. The London Economic Development Corporation & Cohen Highley LLP are proud to sponsor the awards again this year.
