Hear It! Stop It! #NoBystanders

Posted July 18, 2015

On Wednesday night, the Pride London Festival Board of Directors proudly unveiled the Hear It! Stop It! #NoBystanders Campaign ahead of the 2015 festival.

The Hear It! Stop It! #NoBystanders Campaign was originally launched by The 519 in Toronto last year during World Pride. With their support & the support of the London InterCommunity Health Centre, Pride London Festival is excited to be bringing this campaign to London.

The goal is to help challenge homophobic, biphobic and transphobic language and foster LGBTQ inclusive environments. All organizations and individuals have the responsibility to ensure that people feel able to be themselves, free from bullying and abusive language. The campaign is inspired by the Stonewall, UK campaign and aims to bring this powerful message to Canada.

The Pledge reads:
'I will never be a bystander to homophobic, biphobic or transphobic language. If I hear it, I will stop it. I commit to standing up for human rights for everyone and never be a bystander.’

The 2015 Pride London Festival runs from Friday, July 17th to Sunday, July 26th. For all of the details, pick up a copy of the 2015 Pride Guide or check out
